What a GREAT website, I learned more about the Cabildo here then I did when I served aboard the ship from 1959 to 1962. Reported as a SA left as a QM2 and the tour of duty was one that lent itself to countless "sea stories" from the Adak farewell to Easter services on Christmas Island. I love to tell the story about all the bright flashes I saw while on LSD16, that one gets a rise out of most because they are not aware I'm speaking of the test shots off Christmas Island.
